This one is definitely not for the faint of heart - squeamish readers beware, this one definitely has some scenes that are difficult to get through. However, if you're a mystery lover who is able to get through the depictions of violence, this one may be fore you.

I think one area that this author excelled at was creating very distinct voices. The novel switches perspectives throughout - something that I'm not always a fan - and I think he did an excellent job crafting distinct voices and perspectives. Occasionally I think there were slight jumps around in time which didn't feel entirely necessary, but they weren't too confusing to manage for me.

This read is definitely darker than your average mystery, and it doesn't shy away from troubling imagery - readers should definitely be aware of that going in.

I'd give this one 4.5 stars, only because of my slight complaints with the time jumps and for me there were moments that felt graphic just for the sake of being graphic - but all in all it definitely packed a punch and was hard to put down, so I'm rounding up!
