The best kind of thriller
The best thrillers are ones that humanize the bad guys. (Almost) nobody is all good or all bad, and it's the mark of a thoughtful writer when they can help the reader understand the different facets of a character.
I am a bit reluctant with this one because it seems it might be a bit graphic, but I'm enticed by the character study aspects and the intertwined, small-town relationships.
