I was really excited to read this preview, it sounded right up my alley. I love murder mystery and I was intrigued when the description said it had the atmosphere of Mare of Eastown and the villain of Silence of the Lambs. And then...I just couldn't even finish reading the first chapter. Everything seemed overly descriptive, the point of view seemed to shift multiple times in the same chapter, and I feel like I was receiving a life lecture when reading about Isabel's life. I just could tell I didn't click with the author's writing and didn't want to continue on.
