Oh boy, sometimes it is a good idea to judge a book by its cover! I expected not to like this, due to the setting (small, white town) and the genre (crime), but I didn’t expect to be completely confused and lost before the first official chapter even began! I found the writing to be really off-putting and had no desire to read past the first look.
