The blurb from Alex Michaelides, the red slashes featured in the title, and the generally ominous cover really set the tone for this First Look at Granite Harbor by Peter Nichols. I'm new to Nichols' books, and this one pulled me right in with a suspenseful prologue and introduction of various perspectives. I'm always in search of "crossover" selections that will appeal to both students and teachers in my high school library, and Granite Harbor is a really promising selection, thanks to the teen characters and crime elements. I'm happy that Bookish First brought this one onto my reading radar!
