Two years ago Sunny met up with her teammate Candie to check on the third member of their group, Mina. They arrive to find Mina distraught, to the point that she jumps off her balcony. The circumstances around Mina’s death have always bothered Sunny, especially since Mina’s face didn’t look like her normal face. Sunny wonders if it’s because the three of them didn’t finish the ritual they had started… Now, Sunny finds out that Candie will be auditioning for a new group, so she decides to enroll too, in an attempt to get close to Candie again and get some answers about Mina’s death.
This story switches between present day and several years ago. Telling what’s happening now, and what happened starting when Sunny first auditioned for the show “Sweet Cadence,” leading up to when Mina died. You get typical teen drama of the cutthroat world of trying to become a K-pop star, but with a supernatural twist. I’m usually not one for contemporary teen drama stories, but I really loved the mystery and supernatural aspects behind Mina’s death that are coming into play again as Sunny goes through this new set of auditions.
