I don't normally read horror, but I enjoyed this book and all its plot twists and turns. I was drawn to the main character Sunny Lee and could tell from the beginning that there was something up with her former groupmate Candie. But I was shocked by Candie's backstory and what was actually going on in the K-Pop workshop they are both attending. I appreciated how layered Candie's character was and how the author revealed it slowly through the novel. I also really liked how the novel had two different timelines and shifted back and forth between them as a way to unfold the story. I always love books that use alternating timelines and this did not disappoint. There were some parts of the novel that read slower for me, but all in all, I enjoyed reading this book. I'm excited to add GORGEOUS GRUESOME FACES to our school library as I'm sure my students will enjoy reading this thriller!
