I do not like to rate books that I choose to DNF (did not finish), but a rating is required. I have given a 2 for what I did read because the writing itself is better than a 1. However, I chose to stop reading this one because the characters I did not find to be enjoyable enough. Our main character continuously leads to a catastrophic event and when it's passively mentioned, it seems as though it wasn't that big of a deal. Then we still get the suspenseful feeling that there's more to the story, but at that point I did not care what led to the catastrophic event.
I am not sure if part of the reason I could not find myself getting attached to the characters is because it's a reality competition plot. It however did not help. I personally think that this could have done better as a thriller without a reality show aspect. We then could possibly find interest in our main and side characters.
