Gorgeous Gruesome Faces, first off, had me in awe with the beautiful cover. I could not wait to get my hands on this and read the book.
The book for me starts off kind of slow. We start in the beginning where we learn about the main characters past and how she came to be where she is now. I felt for the most part that the book went into detail enough to understand why Sunny Lee was in her current position. She is anxiety ridden and spends most of her time alone in her apartment dreaming of the past. As we progress through the story Sunny Lee finds herself in a competition with her former best friend where we meet a handful of characters. I liked this part of the story because this is where most of the “horror “ comes into play. I do feel like there was t enough of that in this book for me. As the story goes on Sunny Lee gets more and more distressed and she can’t tell her real life apart from visions she’s having. The book ended surprisingly in way I wasn’t expecting. Which is always refreshing. This is why I would bump my rating up to 3.5 stars.
