Fantastic and enthralling opening. I love the line about best friends, how they should be there for you even when you've said awful things. Complicated friendships like Candie and Sunny's are hard to get right, but the author really nails it. The flashback to the scene where Mina jumps is unsettling, and I'm obsessed with seeing how the story will go, especially knowing that there are horror elements.
