This was a hard book to rate/review. I'm probably closer to a 2.5 stars. As an animal lover, based on the cover and description of the booked I was looking forward to the interaction with the dogs and the author's life. But the dogs felt more of an afterthought. The stories could have easily been told without incorporating the dogs at all. The biggest issue I had was that the writing was chaotic. The author would discuss a certain time period in her life, but then jump to either a different episode or year and then jump back to the original story, but without much continuity. I was confused a lot with who the individuals written about were or where they fit into the author's life. Overall I think it was jumbled.
