First, I have to say the best part about this book for me was the cover. That being said, I love that Jenny's children called her 'Maddy,' a combination of daddy and mommy, since they already had a mommy. The part about the story being told through seven dogs was a bit choppy and all over the place. I think seven short stories would have been better. It's obvious to the reader that the author is a very smart person and a very skilled writer. The subject matter, trying to weave dogs into explaining a transgender journey, just fell flat for me.
