I actually received this book free from celadon publishing and I read it in 2 days time. I actually had no clue when I got it that it was a memoir of a transgender life. I had never read anything regarding transgender before therefore, I am actually not too familiar with transgender so I appreciated the look into what a person who is transgender feels and why they feel the need to be hidden. That part was very sad because I feel as though you should never have to feel the need to hide from who you truly are. I thought the book was very well written and flowed very nicely and I love the incorporation of the dogs as different stances of her life progressed. I would definitely recommend this book for others to read as you don’t have to be transgender to appreciate.
