This book is written by an author who started out her life as a male and who became a transgender female at the age of 40 or so. At the time, the author was married to a woman and had two sons. The marriage was able to stay together and they raised their children as a family. She tells anecdotal stories about her journey and included in the memoir reflections on the dogs she has owned in her life and through her transgender journey. I love dogs and I totally support the LGBTQ community so you would think that I would love this book right? Wrong!
This book lacks a sense of cohesion and flow. It is very disjointed and choppy. The stories are out of order and really poorly organized as a whole. Because of this, the book falls emotionally flat. I forced myself to finish it to write this review. Disappointing!
