Good Boy has me feeling a but undecided - conflicted - I want to love it but I'm just not sure it's for me. First, let me say I am drawn to dog stories and cry easily over the relationships between these beloved animals and their humans. Second, let me also say I am purposefully trying to read books from diverse perspectives this year. It is a personal challenge due to some changing circumstances in my own family. But regardless of my desire to broaden my own perspective, I still find things about this intro to Good Boy that are more of a turn-off than a turn-on. It is haphazard, back and forth through time, I do hope the chapters themselves stay true to timeline and are coherent. And there was a line about bullies and hurt feelings that gave me pause. Perhaps it will work out brilliantly in the end ... I'm undecided.
