I love dog books and I love the concept of this book, but the intro didn't draw me in.

I admit that the cover drew me in. While I don't typically read memoirs, I am a sucker for books about dogs! I've seen the concept of telling your life story through dogs before, but this book seems to have an entirely new focus as she is a transwoman and will be showing (through the dog stories) her experience growing up and into the woman she is today. I am intrigued by this book, but the excerpt didn't draw me in. I think this was mainly because it was simply the introduction so it didn't begin with a linear story, just a summary of what to expect. I get the feeling that the rest of the book would have a different writing style and maybe that will keep my attention, but that is hard to tell with the introduction. I might keep my eye on this book.
