I was instantly drawn to this book because I love all stories that make me cry and a good dog story is bound to do that. I have not read anything by the author so when I realized she was a transgendered woman I was even more intrigued. The idea that years are defined by the dogs you know and have seems like an universal truth that will be exciting to explore in this new frame.
The writing was clear and concise with a bit of humor peppered in. I loved it.
