I am writing this with my canine shadow at my feet and I understand the formative impact animals can have on our lives. We can learn so much about love, how to interact with others, and, in turn, to love ourselves, from our interactions with animals. I found myself grateful for dogs I had never met reading the beginning of Jennifer's story as she discovers her true self and finds a support system with her dogs at the various stages in her life.
