I am a dog person through and through. I have always owned dogs and cats throughout my childhood and adult life but my heart belongs to dogs. There has never been a point in my life when there wasn't a dog in it (or cat actually) except for a short time living with my in-laws, they are not dog people. They are cat people. But I hope there never will be a time when I don't own at least one dog. One dog is fine, two is ideal. They can keep each other company and play with each other and each can have their own human (me or my husband). And one for each hand on solo walks or one for each human for duo walks. Dogs are great listeners, great players, great cuddlers, and super intuitive.
This book is not just about being a dog-owner, it's also about becoming who you really are. I liked that Boylan divided the parts of her life into the owning of seven different dogs and what pivotal thing happened. Any cover with a dog on it has my number and this one IS a good boy!! I look forward to reading the rest of this book.
