I was excited to take a first look at Jennifer Finney Boylan's "Good Boy". The concept intrigued me- telling a life story through interactions with pets. It's a unique structure. As I read the excerpt though I came to see this unique structure isn't necessarily a positive one. I'm not a fan of this excerpt. I wanted to be. But the framing of this memoir is confusing and difficult to follow.
