I was hooked from the get-go, simply because I have a lab named Ranger and I needed to know what happened next. I stayed for the story. I am not a memoir reader; my non-fiction reading is limited to the classroom. But with this story, a journey of self-discovery and learning to grow and become who you are, no matter how long it took to get there, had me hooked. I could feel Jennifer in every word she wrote. Her relationship with her dogs over the years as she became who she was felt so real and raw. This is going on my must-read list because it is t often you find a book where it feels like the author is write there, sitting next to you and recounting their life. Plus dogs.
