I absolutely, positively love the all fairy tale retellings that are popular right now. It’s so interesting to see how all these authors take something that most people are familiar with and recreate these stories into something completely new. It’s definitely a walk down memory lane for me since I grew up reading and watching all the fairy tales. Marissa Meyer is the QUEEN of fairy tale retellings. As a kid, I found the story of Rumpelstiltskin to be really creepy and very dark and it always scared me a little. Gilded sounds like a perfect retelling. I liked the female main character and can’t wait to see her really flex her abilities. I love the dark atmosphere and medieval type setting. I was definitely drawn into the story from page 1 and could see myself getting lost in the story. Overall, I didn’t want to stop reading! I cannot wait for it to publish!
