I love Marissa Meyer as an author so when I heard there was a new book that she had written, I immediately went out and bought it. I was not disappointed. The cover is great and I love how it is related to the story as you will find out. I thought I knew what characters she wrote about or "reimagined" as she does in her other books, but even by the end of the book, I didn't see a connection to any other characters. And that was fine! I loved the writing anyways and the storyline was great. I wish I waited a bit longer before reading it so I could buy the second book and continue the story instead of waiting for it to be released.
Even if you have never read a book by this author, there is no connection to the other series or trilogies that she has written. This book doesn't leave readers with a huge cliffhanger, which I greatly appreciate. I am very excited to see what happens to the main characters in the next book.
