Gilded gave me the perfect fantasy escape. It had a lush atmospheric feel that made me feel like I too walked through the forest. The characters had such strength as well. I rooted for Serilda to find her answers and to connect with the mysterious boy. The plot had all the elements to maintain an edge of your seat drama propelling the characters forward. Their connections and growth generated interest too. I especially loved the town that welcomed Serilda as she learned more about her mother and her history. Ultimately, it all reminded me of the importance of community when it comes to basic survival and to thriving.
