Gilded by Marissa Meyer is a book I've been anxiously awaiting to read. I read an excerpt of the book and absolutely loved it. I was hooked from the very beginning. Essentially, it is a retelling and it is beyond creative. The author did a fantastic job with this story and I would recommend it to everyone. The world building was really good. I liked that there were so many creatures and that we got to see different towns and villages. Another really good feature was the folklore woven throughout the story. The story is full of other stories and the characters use those stories to build the actual story the reader is reading. It was very creative and allowed for thr expansion of the world building. We get to see so much happening in two worlds in a parallel form and get to see the main character traverse these constantly. I am a sicker for a good cliffhanger, and this story definitely has that.
