I went into this book expecting a normal Marissa Meyer, great plot with a great romance in it. The plot was great. It did drag at times and it felt like there was a lot of extra details and scenes added that didn't need to be in. I didn't think it benefited the story in anyway. I also did not believe the romance in this book at all. It felt so forced and I honestly thought she had better romantic chemistry with the villain of this story than the actual love interest. I just didn't feel any chemistry between the two love characters. I honestly thought they were going to have more of a friendship relationship until they kissed and then kept kissing. The ending kind of saved the book for me. It was such a dramatic, in a good way, kind of ending that made me want to know what was going to happen next. It was kind of a crazy ending and it was also kind of dark, which I like.
