I've been in a reading slump for a while, especially because some of the books I have picked up failed to keep my attention for longer than the first chapter. While I was reading this, I couldn't help but get whisked away into this little town where Serilda told the little ones wild stores that she was able to conjure up due to the blessing bestowed upon her. The descriptions of the various characters were not excessive nor did they take away from the story, but added another layer of beauty to it, in a way.
What really blew me away were the stories that Serilda had told about the Erlking, and then meeting him in all his glory. He is such a complex character, and you can never be too sure as to whats going through his head. I've actually grown to love his overall character design, despite knowing him for such few chapters.
Overall it flowed so naturally and the attention to detail alongside the use of the folklore made this just a breathtaking and unique retelling that I absolutely cannot wait to pick up a copy of!
