I enjoyed Marissa Meyer's Cinder series, so I was excited to read this latest book, which a reimagining of the fairytale Rumplestiltskin. I think Rumplestiltskin is a fascinating story and one that isn't told as frequently as some of the others, so it was interesting to read this novel and see how Meyer took the original story and twisted it into something new.

This book got off to a great start, and I flew through the first half in no time at all. It is a fascinating world of ghosts and monsters and mysterious powers. I did feel like the book slowed down in the second half. I wasn't quite as engaged as the story went on, and perhaps it was a bit too long? Especially since it sounds like there will be a sequel. I wish this first book would ahve been a little shorter and more concise to keep my attention from start to finish.

Still, I'm eager to see what happens in the second book and overall I did enjoy this story quite a bit!
