I wasn't sure what to expect here, as Rumpelstiltskin is a tale that is very infrequently touched on! However, in the first few pages, you immediately get a main character, Serilda, full of heart and intrigue. She has been cursed by the god of lies and has an un-fun life currently, though she enjoys telling stories to local children. One night during a hunt of legends, Serilda makes the decision to help out some forest creatures and ends up meeting and lying to the Erlking. This moment leads to her being summoned by the Erlking to her potential doom for a lie she had told him.
So far, this story is captivating! The creatures from stories are creepy and exciting, and Serilda is a heroine I want to root for! The cover for the book is also amazing, and I can't wait to see how it ties into the story even more.
