The opening was a bit slow as we learned about the world, but it picked up quickly by Chapter 4 and I was so sucked into the story that I was disappointed to reach the end of the First Look! I absolutely loved how the author used in world fairy tales to provide world building as well as the internal thoughts of the MC as she was confronted with characters from her stories. I felt terrified and exhilarated, worried that our MC wouldn't make it past the first act. I truly can't wait to read more of this story!!
