I wonder if the author, Marissa Meyer, feels a special connection to the narrator Serilda? They are both story tellers reimagining fables. It took about 40 pages to get into the rhythm of this story, given the unfamiliar names, creatures and setting. Hopefully this pays off at the end of the novel.
