Gilded is such a fun spin on the classic Rumpelstiltskin!! Ripe with lore and a world so fleshed out I could imagine it being a real place, this book is fascinating. The first chapters created history and backstory without being boring or overexplanatory in the slightest. Marissa Meyer has a very subtle way of describing characters or surroundings that I definitely appreciate. And to top it all off I absolutely love books about storytellers- it feels so meta! I really enjoy the cover and how it's both charming and sinister. This first impression left off on such a hook and I cannot wait for more!
