Freddy Ferguson is at an airport in CA when he notices a mysterious woman, seemingly being escorted to a flight. What begins as a mysterious encounter quickly changes to a thriller when the plane that Anna Brook was supposed to board explodes in mid-air. I enjoyed how the author created suspense and led the reader through a number of clues that led to dead ends. This book kept me guessing, but it also kept me confused because so many different characters were introduced so quickly. This book would make a good beginning for a series about this PI firm that Freddy works for since the author excels in revealing what is really happening slowly and leaving the readers wondering. The outcome of the novel is unpredictable, so that is good for readers who enjoy being puzzled throughout a book. Readers of suspense with thrills thrown in will enjoy this book. I found myself skipping over the parts about Freddy’s boxing career because it included too many details to keep my interest. But the real story about Anna and her getting on a different flight was fascinating enough to keep me reading to the end.
