I didn't think the book was as spectacular as I had originally hoped. It started out fantastic with Marlow, her curse breaking skills, and trying to find out what happeded to her mother. Then it turned into a fake dating, royal family drama, and Marlow is in the middle of it all. What turned into what I thought was going to be a thriller to investigate her mom's disapperance, turned into an episode of Gossip Girl. The lifestyle of the rich and famous, a fake relationship for people to gossip about, and the miscommunication between Marlow and Adrius was ridiculous.
Obviously and sadly, this book isn't for me. The cover drew me in, but I think it's a bit misleading. I'm glad so many others loved the book, so it's definitely a me thing as I simply didn't like the characters and the storyline. I can appreciate the writing and the world building, but that's where it ends for me.
