This is not my typical read. I’m not huge into paranormal reads but I do love fantasy. I did receive an arc of this book through I think Netgalley so when I finished this excerpt I was lucky enough that I could keep reading since it is still on my kindle. The writing is engaging and I like how the author uses metaphors. For me metaphors are really hit or miss. There has to be a fluidity to them that not all authors understand. I want to image to flow and I shouldn’t have to think it through to make it fit. It should just fit. Also the cover is fabulous. It has such an intriguing vibe and I not only want to have it for the words inside but the cover as well. I do love a pretty cover. Books for have to have pretty covers to be good but I’m more excited about having them on my shelf when they are pretty. Overall I enjoyed this book and thought the airhead great at atmospheric design.
