I read Katy Rose Pool's first book and thought it was great, but never got around to finishing the series because I wanted to read them all once they were all released and then just never got back to it. I think this is the push to reread that first series because I really enjoyed this book. The magic system was interesting and different enough to keep me happy. I also really love a good mystery thrown into my fantasy stories. This was great because as a curse breaker, she's basically like a Sherlock Holmes in her world, breaking curses but also finding out who cast them and why. You're immediately drawn into the world and the mysteries from the first chapter, and it only gets more intriguing and mysterious from there. I was completely absorbed into everything that was going on. The book had a lot of action, great world building, and an incredibly frustrating slow burn romance that'll have you tearing out your hair. Overall, great book, and I'd definitely recommend it to my friends!
