The story starts with a seventeen year old girl named Marlow who is a curse breaker. She goes to what sounds like a bar to break a cure someone put on a performer. She is caught by a gang that owns the bar called the Copperheads. A woman who has been following her saved her by revealing a tattoo that has something to do with her missing mother. Then vanishing. The next chapter she finds a way to break the curse and runs into some people from her past.
For only thirty three pages it was very interesting and I would love to read more. The writing was captivating and drew me in to want to know more about the world and the magic they use.
