The story is interesting; it's supposed to be Young Adult but reads older like it's meant to be New Adult (18-25). Even though the MC is seventeen, she and most of the people around her behave much older, including the typical 'going to the bar and getting a drink before hunting her mark' scene. (Why is YA doing this by the way? Just make a NA category already!! These 'children' can't vote or drive, but drinking and possibly murder is perfectly fine? Is this the message publishing wants to send to children? Also, why is every fantasy clinging desperately to polytheism, which by the way isn't what humans default to.)
Anyway, I'm loving the card-based magic system and looking forward to how it works in this world (like can everyone use it?).
