This story drew me in immediately and was action packed from the start. The author does a great job with vividly describing the setting and world building right away. There are rival gangs and our main character seems to live on the outskirts of these weaving her way through the underbelly of society but we learn she actually had been from an upper class only a year ago up until her mother disappeared. I can’t wait to find out more about her life breaking curses and what happened to her mother, there seems to be so much left to learn about her, I can’t wait to read the rest of the book!
So far I loved the excerpt of the book I was able to read. I am not a huge fan of the cover because at first glance it doesn’t fit with the story - it’s a little too dark suggesting the story is more sci-fi or horror when this seems to be a fantasy/YA book. I think if the cover were lightened up a little it could draw in more readers in my opinion. Loved the first read though!
