As a Latina with curly hair I love the curly girl representation! This story was very heartwarming. I adore the journey of Marlene's self love and confidence throughout the graphic novel. I couldn't put it down and has great pacing. A sweet and adorable must read. This triggered a lot of my childhood memories. I struggled with taming my curly hair growing up and learning to love it. Marlene is a very relatable and likeable character. Loved her relationship with Camila and her Tia. This has a very powerful message to young girls especially in the Latin/Hispanic community. The illustrations in this book and it's cover are gorgeous (love the colors)! Would love to read more from this author. I am definitely going to recommend this to my younger cousins.
