What a sweet, adorable middle grade read this was! I loved everything about it!
I don't naturally gravity towards graphic novels (or middle grade for that matter), but I'm so glad I picked this one up and read it!
As someone who has curly (frizzy) hair herself, I absolutely LOVED the message in this book! That all hair is beautiful, and one should love the hair they were given (and the person they are).
The artwork was as bright, lively, and compelling as the words themselves. The two authors really did a beautiful job at executing this story.
Marlene was a wonderful main character to follow along with. Some of my favorite panels were those when she envisioned herself as a super hero.
If I haven't mentioned it enough, I think the messaging in this story is absolutely beautiful, and more girls (and people in general) need to hear it. I highly recommend this book!
