I enjoyed reading this book so much because the main character reminded me of myself and how my mother would always take me to the hair dresser because she felt it was hard to maintain and didn't look neat. Getting to have a connection while reading is an awesome feeling because you can relate and realize that you are not the only person who went through that. Overall I loved this book and the cover is just amazing. Also this was also a fast read for me which I didn't mind at all. I really hope that others will pick up this graphic novel because it provides so many life lessons. Lessons about life, hair, family, and what society considers beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I am glad that the main character ended up embracing her hair and loving her hair regardless of what anyone else thought. Also her mother made a big step an embrace her natural hair as well.
