Oh my gosh. Marlene reminds me so much of me growing up. My hair was constantly relaxed and straightened because it was "nappy" while my sister had good hair. The amount of emotional trauma that I had to unlearn because of this was absurd.
We need more stories that focus on the beauty of curly hair and that white, European beauty standards should not be applied to everyone. I can't wait to read more of Frizzy!
