Although this is a middle grade graphic novel and I typically do not read books like this, I found this one to be so heartwarming. It centers around a young girl by the name of Marlene who embraces her natural curly hair and stops straightening it. I really loved the images in this graphic novel and found that they added so much to the story. I love that this novel centers around self acceptance and loving yourself for the way that you are. The cover of this novel is just as stunning as the rest of the images in this novel. I highly recommend this book to young readers!
