I don't know anything about the artwork of graphic novels and I'm not the target audience. Not really relatable for me (used to be everybody wanted curly hair) and unsure why the mother is so insistent upon straight hair. Doesn't that send the wrong message, coming from parent?Not overly fond of Marlene either. Her attitude, while somewhat understandable, could be presented better. Best for young readers.
