This was such a cute start to the story and we as readers can't help but to fall in love with Marlena from the very beginning. Overall, I love that Ortega is tackling such an important aspect of identity, one's hair, in such a thoughtful and sensitive way to deliver a powerful message. This book will be a must read for every teenager struggling to find acceptance for who they are.
My only beef is that I don't generally care for graphic novels, which readers should be forewarned that this is. Otherwise, really adorable!
