Many young people do not have good self images. It’s especially difficult if one is compared to another or if faults are found with parts of the body one has no control over. I felt sorry for young Marlene and the reactions to her hair. I’m sure the author has a good lesson to impart and things will get better through the help of Tia and Camille. This may be a good book for young people struggling through issues of body image and self confidence.
