I loved this first impression. The story is a coming of age about a girl struggling with what her family and friends tell her she must do to be beautiful and tame her hair, and how she feels about herself deep down. I think this will be relatable for all girls as we struggle with societal expectations of beauty standards. I'd love the opportunity to continue reading more of this graphic novel and writing a full review. The illustrations were lovely and it contains an important message I'd enjoy highlighting on my blog.
