Admittedly, I didn't know the discrimination people with curly or "African" hair styles faced until about 2019, when it got brought up in California legislation. I feel like this book helps young ignorant souls (like my former self) understand without saying it outright the hidden biases we all still have regarding race and signs of it, and how to move past them to self-acceptance.
