Not my usual kind of book but loved it
Frankly in Love was heartbreaking, uplifting, sweet, and mostly a great read. I don't like sad books or sad moments, but overall I loved it. I laughed, I cried...this is not my normal kind of book but I could not put it down at all. I can see why Book of the Month Club chose it as one of their picks.
I knocked off one star because of the inherent sadness, but also because of some racism throughout the book that I didn't love. However, the exploration theme of Frank trying to figure out who he is both within and outside of his multiple racial identities was intriguing and I loved being taken along for the ride. It looks like this is the first in a series. I can't wait to read the next book!
